Are you a motivated and talented Senior Technician looking to progress and develop your career? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Engineer to join our forward-thinking local authority using the latest Highway Improvement techniques to manage its network.

Based within North Somerset, boasting both beautiful coastlines and rural countryside, you will play a key role in this essential function to improve our highways across the region.  Assisting on design production and concepts as well as providing support to the Team Manager for Neighbourhood Traffic and Road Safety on various design and improvement schemes, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and play your part within a successful team.

As an effective communicator, you will have an interesting and varied workload and a great working environment.

As the Assistant Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Assist in Design production or produce designs on smaller schemes.
• Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options with guidance and supervision
• Help Produce design concepts, design details, drawings, specifications, contract documents and other technical documents for small schemes or assist as part of larger schemes
• Ensure innovation and best practices is adopted where practicable
• Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards.
• Assist in developing safe, sustainable and value for money solutions to meet technical and project requirements.

Ideally, successful candidates will have a level 4 qualifiation
